Carlton Mill Footbridge, Christchurch

Working closely with a local community group and the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuilt Team, a design was developed for the Carlton Mill Footbridge in Merivale, Christchurch. The bridge is designed using the harakeke (flax) plant, which is common along the river banks and throughout Christchurch City.

A series of different design scenarios were investigated before settling on the design which was constructed.
